Two works of art based on same topic — Bombay — yet manifest it via different medium. But both the works bring out the culture and diversity of this city beautifully on canvas and paper.
While Paramesh Paul’s paintings show an amalgamation of various cultures flourishing peacefully, the book Mumbai: The Face Of Today’s India showcases the journey of this magnificient city from a Fort established by the British to the financial hub of the country. The book takes us down the memory lane when Mumbai was Bombay — of Parsis, filmwallahs and angrezs. Paramesh captures cityscapes where he showcases the life and various cults of citizens while book stores both the sepia and technicolour tones of the history of Bombay.
The art exhibition is On till September 30, at JS Art Gallery, Khar from 11 am to 7 pm.
