Tried and testedLe berian, Lokhandwala's latest takeaway joint has a fancy name that sounds French, but only serves desi fare. On the menu are kebabs, rolls and biryanis by the kilo. Their tagline 'soulful biryanis and more' got us curious, and we decided to sample the biryanis on offer. We tried the Paneer Makhani Biryani (Rs 180 for a full plate) and the Paneer Roast MasalaBiryani (Rs 180 for a full plate). While the paneer used was fresh, the spices failed to work their magic. Among the non-vegetarian options, we went for the Bohri Style Lamb (Rs 240 for a full plate), which was good, the Chicken Afghani Tikka Biryani (Rs 200 for a full plate) was average and the Butter Chicken Biryani (Rs 220 for a full plate), was strictly okay. Most of the biryani's were strangely lacking in taste and aroma. While we are not raving about them per se, there's no denying that they are easy on the pocket and can be your last option if you are looking for chunky meats with rice to fill you up as you have a boozy night in. However, if you want the authentic biryani, give this one a skip, it will not leave you satiated.
