I am a 17-year-old college girl. I am a little skinny and I don’t know what kind of western clothes I should wear during the monsoons, which are comfortable-yet-fashionable. Please suggest some. — Dhanashree
It’s better to stick to clothes, which don’t graze the floor in order to avoid getting dirt on them. Stay away from anything flowy and long, especially dresses. Since prints are big this season and you have the figure, you could get yourself some digital or floral print leggings, which you could wear with loose blouses or t-shirts.
You could also opt for ankle grazing jeans and trousers, which are available in prints as well. These could go well with a cropped top or vest! Ripped boyfriend jeans, which are ankle-length are a comfortable option too. Team them with a printed or bright vest or t-shirt.
I am 31 years old. I weigh 60 kgs, have broad shoulders, fat arms, a round face, thin hair and I am 5 feet tall. My legs are quite in shape. I usually stick to knee-length kurtas with churidars or opt for jeans with short kurtas. I’m bored of this look. What clothes would suit me best? — Cloudia
I would advise you to stick to prints. Why don’t you start wearing shirts and blouses in prints with bright coloured jeans or leggings or then reverse into printed jeans or leggings with a nice flowy blouse, which will hide your paunch, arms and accentuate your legs. However, for the evening you should get yourself some short or full-sleeved trapeze dresses, 60s style in bold colours. The short length will show off your legs and the cut will hide all that needs to be hidden.
I am a 25-year old woman. While I know how to match my clothes, I often find it hard to accessorise right. Could you give me some tips on what accessories should I buy for work and evening out? — Samantha
For the day it’s nice to keep it casual! Wear a lot of bracelets in oxidised gold or silver or a pair of cool earrings, which are quite funky this summer. If you’re more on the feminine side get yourself some pretty hair bands with flowers for the day or crystals for evening. For the evening, vintage jewelled neckpieces would be lovely. Opt for a nice brown or tan shoulder bag for the day — which fits your daily necessities!
