Referred to as a child prodigy, 11-year-old Dev Mehta, lived up to its tag as he presented his second solo painting exhibition. Titled Trancestroke, the exhibition explores the multifaceted understanding of the artist’s experimentalism as a painter.

The young artist started exploring his creative streak at the age of three, with no formal training. The exhibition held at Ravindra Natya Mandir, saw around 50 paintings of the artist showcasing diverse emotions and moods of urban life.

Dev also captures the mystery of ‘Om and Shivling’ in his colourful and evocative paintings. His paintings are a depiction of his curiosity and fascination for the power of the almighty, nature and the universe. His works — The Blue Elephant and My Angry Father were praised the most by both children and adults. Also, Dev donated 25 per cent of the money he received for his paintings to a NGO for paraplegics.
