A classic pair of denims has truly emerged as the second skin of our generation and with times this fashion staple is growing into its own segment of style. The timeless white and denim combination were redefined by Bollywood glamazons at their recent Cannes outings. Sonam wore an oversized boyfriend shirt with a classic pair of denims whereas Deepika sported a simple white tank with high-waist '80s jeans. We asked some of India's creative minds to redefine their take on the classic combination of effortless chic.

My version of this denim + white equation is this combination of a fitted pencil skirt with distressed hem teamed with boxy crisp white shirt with cutout sleeves. The clean silhouette complements this visceral orgy of contrasts: sheer vs opaque, textured vs plain, fluid lines vs structure.

Our look is a hand-painted floral sarong denim pants paired with a one shoulder shirt, it's a perfect day to night look. The skirt trouser look is the ideal summer twist on a classic denim jeans and white shirt ensemble.

We illustrated the military trend through the white stripe detail on the side seam of the denim pants, the metal buttons on the placket, shoulder tabs, rolled up sleeves and the tail coat. We also incorporated a twist by giving a rock star look with acid washed skinny denims, a cropped shirt front and ankle high boots.
