The Office for National Statistics revealed that nearly half of all babies are born to women over 30, as they concentrate on their careers before being bogged down by the tedium of motherhood, reported The Daily Star.

The report also stated that 48 percent of babies were born to mums aged 30 and older last year. The average age of mums in England and Wales has shot up to 29½, a year older than a decade ago.
