“I have always been awestruck by the strength of the mountains, the trees which give so readily of themselves to everything around, displaying their impersonal love”, says Agarwal.

A commerce graduate, Agarwal’s romance with colours and brush began long ago. She started designing and making things out of paper and held an exhibition where she sold her paper craft.  In 2002, after a diamond assortment course, she started designing jewelry and had a few successful exhibitions over the years in Mumbai and Hyderabad.

It was 2004, when she finally started learning to paint without ever having stepped into an art school.  In 2008, confident of her technique, Agarwal started painting by herself, with her imagination as a guide.  And it was in 2009 that she presented her first solo show.

Her ongoing show titled 'And it is Love', is a series of 24 paintings, all of which reflect the connection between the spiritual and the mortal. She has used mostly acrylic paints with ink and brush. Her favourite amongst all is — Love, a celebration of life and death.  “Just as life comes from love, so does death.  They are two sides of the same coin that we will all go through some day.”
