A video of a dog shelter home giving its last dog for adoption and celebrating has gone viral for all the right reasons.

The video, which was shared by Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, a shelter group based in the United States, has been shared over 2,000 times since it was posted on Facebook on Monday evening.

This Christmas, the volunteers will be a happy bunch simply because animals that don’t find homes are eventually put down because shelters can only dedicate so many resources to these poor pets in order to ensure the survival of other incoming animals.

“What happens when your last available dog gets adopted? Your staff and volunteers jump into the kennels to celebrate! We’ve adopted out 25 cats and 23 dogs so far during our #HomefortheHolidays promotion, and for the second day in a row, we’ve adopted out ALL of our available dogs! We’ll have more dogs available later tonight or tomorrow. Keep those adoptions coming!” they shared on their Facebook page.

India, too, has a number of animal shelters and if you’re an animal lover and want a dog or a cat, think about adoption before buying. You may make a difference to an animal’s life.
