AER has always stood out as a popular rooftop bar and lounge that gives you a panoramic view of the city’s landscape and the sea. And as it opens doors to welcome both regulars and others, there’s also a new line-up of musical acts and artistes on board. We dropped by for a sneak peek of the tapas-style menu that also has an array of cocktails to raise a toast to.

SIP ON COCKTAILS AND UNWIND AT A SUNDAY SUNDOWNER

Apart from a breathtaking view of the city, patrons can also checkout the Sunday Sunset sundowners with a saxophonist jamming with the resident/guest DJ. If you want to get the party started mid-week, you can also drop by on Wednesday and Thursday from 6 pm to 9 pm to witness a three-piece band performing. From occasional jazz evenings to electronic acts, these gigs are also in the pipeline.

WHAT’S ON OFFER?

The menu has been revamped as a tapas-style menu. So bar bites include a Charcuterie Platter (Rs 725) comprising prosciutto, chicken Lyoner, smoked salmon. A great pick for a meatlover. The Barbeque chicken and caramelised onion sliders (Rs 750) is definitely a delicious mouthful that’s worth a try and so is the Crisp bread, arugula, prosciutto, balsamic vinaigrette (Rs 725). Crispy, light and scrumptious. Chicken and Cheese Popcorn (Rs 725) is a good option to snack on as you wait for your drinks. In the cocktail section, we recommend you go with the The Nig (Rs 1,000). Tanqueray, fresh lime juice, and home-made green tea syrup, passion fruit syrup, egg white make this a refreshing concoction to drive away those mid-week blues. The Chef’s Paan (Rs 950) made with Bacardi Carta Blanca, Maraschino, fresh lime juice, green apple and parsley is another great option if you love citrus-based drinks. End your day with the AER Celebration Banoffee Pie (Rs 550) a feast for your tastebuds as you dig into this English dessert pie made from bananas, cream and toffee. A trio of goodness that is totally worth the indulgence.

COST: Average price for two pax (without alcohol) Rs 3,000 (for food and mocktails) and average price for two pax (with alcohol) Rs 5,000
