They are visually very appealing so people usually click pictures first before indulging, thus making them popular on social media. But other then the craze for social media likes, it is a monstrous drink with a deadly combination of sweet components.” Manish Sharma, owner of Molecule, seconds this and adds, “Freakshakes are basically loaded concoctions, which are above smoothies and shakes. In fact there are customers who opt for freakshakes as desserts as well.” If one traces its origins, one realises that these overindulgent, creamy, thick shakes have made their way from a cafe in Canberra to cafes and restaurants back home.
