A new poll has shown that overwhelming Americans’ describe big government as the biggest threat in 2011.
The Gallup poll showed that 64 percent of respondents described the big government as the biggest threat to the country, as compared to just 26 percent, who identified big business is their gravest concern and eight percent who chose big labor.
Sixty five percent of respondents had described the big government as the country’s biggest menace between 1999 and 2000.
The poll showed that 85 percent of Republicans said big government was the biggest threat to the nation, as compared to 64 percent of Independents and 48 percent of Democrats who endorsed a similar view.
According to the poll, 48 percent of Democrats who said big government was the most significant threat to the U.S., which represents a steep rise since 2009, when 32 percent of had similar view.
The Gallup poll interviewed 1,012 American adults between November 28 and December 1.
