Now, here's a list of the world's top five most expensive handbags and their price. Take a look:
1. Boarini Milanesi's Parva Mea- USD 7 million

The world's most expensive bag was unveiled in November 2020. Dubbed Parva Mea, it costs a whopping €6 million (approximately US$7.18 million or Rs 52 crore). Crafted from semi-shiny alligator skin embellished with 10 white gold butterflies and a diamond-paved clasp, the bag was unveiled to raise awareness of the need to protect our oceans that are increasingly threatened by non-biodegradable plastics. As per reports, four of the butterflies on the bag are adorned with diamonds, whilst another three are set with sapphire and the rest with Paraiba tourmalines – totalling over 130 carats. The design and gems on the bag are inspired by the sea. Only three pieces of this bag have been created.
2. Mouawad 1001 Nights Diamond Purse- USD 3.8 million

Until last year October, Mouawad 1001 Nights Diamond Purse held the title of the world's most expensive handbag. It was named so by the Guinness World Records 2011. However, as mentioned before, last year in November Italian luxury handbag brand Boarini Milanesi unveiled Parva Mea which costs a whopping €6 million. As for Mouawad 1001 Nights Diamond Purse, it is worth USD 3.8 million. The heart-shaped purse is handcrafted from 18-karat gold and incorporates 4,517 diamonds (105 yellow, 56 pink, and 4,356 colourless diamonds) with a total weight of 381.92 carats.
3. Hermès Kelly Rose Gold Bag- USD 2 Million

The definition of timeless elegance, Hermès Kelly Rose Gold bag is on the third spot on the world's most expensive bags list. Designed in collaboration with jewellery and shoe designer Pierre Hardy, Hermès Kelly is made out of solid rose gold dotted with a total of 1160 diamonds. The rose gold has been mouled to resemble crocodile leather. The tiny yet stunning handbag is worth USD 2 Million. Only 12 pieces of this bag was created.
4. Hermés Ginza Tanaka Birkin Bag- USD 1.4 Million

Hermés is a brand every handbag enthusiast would love to own. The Ginza Tanaka Birkin handbag carries 2,000 diamonds on its' outer layer and features a pear-shaped 8-karat centrepiece, which can be detached and used as a brooch. It also has a diamond-encrusted strap which can be separated from the purse and worn as a bracelet or necklace.
5. Hermés Chaine’d Ancre Bag- USD 1.4 Million

Created in 2012 in collboaration with jeweller Pierre Hardy who spent 2 years working on the piece for the brand's 'Haute Bijouterie' Collection, the bag has 1,160 diamond-encrusted chain links. Only three pieces of this bag were created.
