One of India's largest pet festivals comes to Mumbai, Yoshita Rao reports from the scene

Its the second day of the carnival for pets and pet lovers in Mumbai's MMRDA grounds at BKC. Highlights include a six-hour long cat show in the spacious canopy only for cats. For canines, a security dog show and Temptation Alley, one of the many games, where treats, toys and other distractions line the path from the pet to the owner, is what is in store.

A melange of pets from Chow Chows, Huskies and St Bernard's to desi pups and even Persian cats trot along the green carpets at the venue. Flying Fur, a doorstep, dog grooming stall along with many foods and soft toy counters form a maze around the main events. Simba Bork, a dog beer free of alcohol made of veggies, bones and chicken feet is available at the dog bar.

This is the second edition of the festival in Mumbai. While the nation's capital has had Pet Fed for five years now, the fest debuted in Bengaluru this year. At the kick-off on Saturday, pet parents were showing up with their pooches and one stray cat all dressed up to the cosplay event. Here are 10 images of furry friends to brighten up your day.

Far from all the commotion of the competition on stage, this loveable mutt relaxes in the playpen filled with colourful balls and a slide she tries to climb backwards.

A ballerina, who doesn't twirl but looks pretty in pink.

The loveable animal character from Walt Disney, Minnie Mouse also made an appearance at Pet Fed, sporting a sequined bow just for the evening.

Fur ball by day, fights crime by night. Though she might accept treats as a bribe, even when she's in full form.

You need all the help you can get to carry Jack-o-pumpkins and this pooch has a friend.

Here's a Chihuahua who came to play. Though his Captain Hook arm and knife may seem quite intimidating, he is always open to innumerable pets and belly rubs.

With a hairdo that must've taken hours and white bows all along her fur coat, this poodle loves to flaunt it and is always camera ready.

Bobo is all set for the ball. She is on the lookout for her Prince Charming but will have a good time either way.

There were many tutus trotting around at the parade. With her tiny blue bows and yellow-tinted tutu, this Pug is all set to take on the competition.

The only well-dressed cat of the lot takes the stage in a red bow but doesn't look too enthusiastic about it.
