On day 8th of Navratri 2020, Ashtami Goddess Mahagauri is worshipped. It is believed that she blesses people with intelligence, peace and ambition. 

This day is particularly important as many families celebrating the festival, perform Kanya Pujan today by worshipping nine or even more young girls dressed up in different avatars of Goddess Durga.  Some others observe this puja on Navami or the 9th day of Navratri. 

Meanwhile, talking about the various colours that devotees don on all nine days, on this day, that is Ashtami, which falls on October 24, worshippers will be seen sporting purple colour. It represents power, intelligence and ambition.
