If you already have oily skin, humidity can be a nightmare for you. The sebaceous glands present on your face are responsible for oil or sebum production. One should always carry a blotting paper to wipe away that extra grease. And if you plan step out, avoid putting on too much makeup. Here are some other tips to take care of oily skin during monsoon.

Scrubbing is a great way to exfoliate your skin, unclog pores and get rid of impurities, however you should not over scrub as that can lead to acne production.

Mud face packs are the way to go for keeping the oiliness out of your face. You can apply fuller’s earth or multani mitti on face to get glowing skin.

Sunscreen should be your staple irrespective of the season. Be it monsoon, summers or winters, never forget to apply sunscreen with the necessary SPF. For oily skin, look for gel-based and non-comedogenic sunscreens.

Even if you have oily skin, you should not skin applying moisturiser. Calamine lotion has great absorbing properties and can be used regularly.

People with oily or acne-prone skin should use face washes that have salicylic acid. Before purchasing a face wash, one should thoroughly check its ingredients. The pH level of your face wash also matters.

With increased sebum production and sweating, makeup can get trapped in your pores and clog them. So, avoid applying too much makeup on the skin during monsoon.
