South Indian film actress Kajal Aggarwal recently tied the nuptial knot with beau Gautam Kitchlu, who is an interior designer by profession. The couple were among the ones who got married during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kajal and Gautam decided to take their relationship to the next step after eight years of partnership. KaTchlu (Kajal-Kitchlu) had intimate wedding ceremonies, especially due to restrictions during coronavirus.

Kajal spoke about the same and more, in an interview with Brides Today. She spoke about how she felt during every step of the way, how a COVID wedding changed things only slightly for the couple, among many other things.

Kajal happened to reveal that she made Gautam go down on his knees for the proposal. She also revealed a moment on their mandap when the couple was eagerly engrossed.

Kajal spoke about her proposal. She remembered having a heart-to-heart conversation with Gautam around January. The coupole met Kajal's parents in May and were engaged in June.

She recollected, "In a lighthearted moment, I forced him to go down on his knees after he spoke to my parents! I teased him by telling him that I won’t get married to him unless he got down on your knees! (he did, of course!)"

Kajal spoke about getting married during the times of COVID-19. She said that the pandemic reduced the number of people who could be invited and attend the wedding. The actress said it was a challenge, but they made sure that every person was tested and put under quarantine. She also expressed, "Of course, this did not take away from our joy or enthusiasm even a little bit!"

Kajal spoke about her various wedding ceremonies. She metioned about the private Mehendi ceremony and said, "There were lovely pujas to begin our festivities, and our very private Mehendi soirées made it all extremely special and memorable."

She spoke about 'phoolon ka gehna' and 'dhol party' during the Punjabi wedding. The actress mentioned, "We loved our smaller affairs like the Haldi, which had really sweet traditions like the ‘ Phoolon Ka Gehna’ where my sister in law came and adorned me with flowers and Jewellery. Being the Punjabi homes that we are, we had a dhol party around it."

The actress also spoke about the grand after-party. She spilled, "We enjoyed our afterparty surrounded by our family and friends. It was a super-fun party, with  great food and music."

Revealing what kept her and Gautam 'earnestly engrossed' during the mandap, Kajal shared, "There were so many special moments through all the functions. Gautam and I really enjoyed our vows at the mandap, we had a very interactive and humorous Panditji who explained the meaning behind every ritual and we were earnestly engrossed (smiles)."

Kajal Aggarwal's wedding lehenga was handwoven with intricate zardozi, pearl and thread work on a floral design. The attire was put together by Anamika Khanna. Aggarwal explained, "It took 20 craftsmen about a month while working day and night on the garment."
