DNA Exclusive: Ananya Panday stuns at LFW Grand Finale, reveals she looks up to Kareena Kapoor for fashion inspiration

Actor Ananya Panday, the Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale showstopper for designer Ruchika Sachdeva stunned onlookers with her fun, full-of-life outfit and confidence on the runway as she brought the curtains down on the jointly organised six-day phygital fashion week organised by FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week (LFW).
Sachdeva launched her collection 'Ready. Set. Play.', with Bollywood actress Ananya Panday as the showstopper. Ananya, who is also the brand ambassador of Lakme, was seen sporting a vibrant pleated skirt with geometric prints and the full-sleeved crop top.
We at DNA spoke to 'Khaali Peeli' star Ananya while she was enjoying a "cookie" and getting ready for her runway appearance, about her association we Ruchika, her beauty secret and who she looks up to for fashion inspiration. Here's what she has to say.

"This season the theme is finding joy in the smaller moments. 2020 has been a really hard year and I think that most people want to make the most of the smaller moments. It goes perfectly with Lakme because they have small packaging but there's lots of fun, so again, it's about finding joy in the smaller things. I think it’s a very important theme and I complete resonate with it especially now, Ananya told DNA in an exclusive chat.
When asked if she follows any pre-runway rituals, Ananya Panday told DNA that she loves eating a cookie. Speaking about the "little things" she finds joys in, Ananya said, "Eating a cookie, watching a nice movie, playing board games with my friends and my parents. I think these make me really very happy."
"I really love her designs. She has a very bold style structure and it’s very unique. Whenever I see a piece of her’s, I know that she has designed it because she has a very unique designing style. She is super classic and cool and she also has a lot of fun with colours. And I love the fact that she is a young designer, is experimental and has a mind of her own. I think that is very cool," Ananya told DNA.
Sharing her beauty secrets with DNA, Ananya Panday said, "Less is more. I believe in simplicity. I also r believe comfort is important. If you are comfortable in what you are wearing then it’ll show and you’ll be the happiest. I also believe in ‘you should never say never’. You should try experimenting."
"My go-to is sweatpants and a crop top. I am always wearing that. But, I also love trying new things. The silhouette of the outfit that I am wearing on the runway is something I have never worn before," Ananya said.
When asked if she experiences any pre-runway jitters, Ananya revealed, "I am always scared that I am going to trip and fall because I am very clumsy. So, I am trying not to think about that." What if that happens? How would you deal with it? "Take my tongue out! There’s no other way," Ananya replied with a laugh.
Who do you look up to for fashion inspiration? "I really look up to Kareena (Kapoor Khan) because I think she is very comfortable in her own skin and she rocks everything that she wears and she’s just beautiful. I love Kareena," Ananya told DNA.
On being asked if she has ever taken tips from the B-town diva? Ananya replied, "I’ve never gotten a chance to discuss fashion tips with her because every time I meet her I’m fully fan-girling over her. But, maybe one day when I calm down a little bit, I can ask her for some tips."
