To own your song is very special, says Bhuvan Bam

He’s a singer, music composer, performer and comedian. But ask popular YouTube personality Bhuvan Bam which hat he is most comfortable wearing, and he says, “Comedy, I feel, is what we all need. I’ve been a notorious kid since school days and what you see in my videos (on his channel BB Ki Vines) is what I have been doing for the last 10 years. So, it’s real instances and drama. Music is my first love, so I can’t really choose between what I do. I love doing it all!” Post his first single Teri Meri Kahani, his latest song Sang Hoon Tere is out now. Bhuvan tells us more...

This is your first solo as your debut, Teri Meri Kahani, was in association with The Viral Fever. Tell us a bit about Sang Hoon Tere.

The first song was shot indoors and this one in Manali in minus four degrees. We’ve put our hearts and souls into this song. The experience was challenging but fun.

Compared to your first song, which was more peppy and upbeat, this is in the soft, romantic space. Are you comfortable in that space?

The storytelling in this song is very different from other songs. It’s on the emotional side. As for finding comfort in the zone, I’m comfortable singing what I write. I like writing emotional and slow, melodious songs. I haven’t tried singing songs from other genres, but yes, I would like to give them a try.

Would you like to try your hand at playback?

If an opportunity like that comes my way, I will definitely want to do it. At the moment, though, I’m aiming at writing my own stuff. To own your song is very special. Now that I have a platform and so many people watching me, I have an upper hand.
