I am a 28-year-old woman. I am super skinny and only find my size in the kid’s section. I want to experiment with newer silhouettes and veer away from slim-fitted ensembles. Can you advise me what to wear? –Manisha Opt for trapeze dresses which are short in length, reminiscent of the ’60s era and add volume to your top and show off your slim legs.

Denim cut-off shorts in all shades are great to pair with a printed blouse and a boyfriend blazer. A shorts suit in  a print with a plain shirt inside is a sophisticated pick for work or even for a party if worn with appropriate shoes. If you like wearing trousers then go for high-waist palazzo pants in prints or bright colours and wear them with cropped tops in lace or fitted bralet styles.

I am a 25-year-old woman. I am most comfortable in black as it makes me appear slim. However, I feel it’s becoming a sort of a uniform. Is black an okay colour for day wear? How can I make it appear brighter? –Karishma

You can never go wrong with black, especially if you are in a professional field. You can stick to black pants, leggings or even skirts. If you have slim legs, black shorts can be worn in the day. If you get a nice loose style then pair it with a cute blouse. For the top you could try several options like cropped tops which are looser and reveal your midriff slightly in lighter more pastel colours such as cream, pink, blue or a floral print.

If you are opting for leggings then a loose printed blouse is perfect to go with it. It can also be belted at the waist if you like. A great and minimalist option is a white shirt, which is available in various styles. Pair it with black pants or jeggings which are comfortable and easy to wear. Try shift dresses in black and white which will help break the monotony.

I am a 32-year-old woman. I have a one-year-old baby and since his birth I’ve been more conscious about what I wear. As I’m travelling to the Maldives in a few weeks I want to know what beach wear is appropriate. I want something that’s not too revealing yet covers my flaws. –Pariena

If you are travelling to the beach and want something to cover you up the best option is maxi dresses and maxi skirts in bright colours or prints. Scarf prints are quite popular and colourful as well. Opt for a pair of palazzo pants which are loose-yet-beachy and pair them  with a vest and a cute beach hat perhaps one of the most appropriate looks for a beach destination.

Also, focus on the accessories carry a lot of bracelets and necklaces to dress up your look and also invest in a few pair of cute flats. If you need to wear a bathing suit, then get yourself a hot one-piece and a pretty printed sarong which you can drape around you to be comfortable.

I love the recent printed jeans trend and am dying to try it for myself. However, I’m a bit heavier on the hips. Can you suggest what style would suit me? –Mona

If you are heavy at the bottom it’s preferable to stay away from prints. However, if you really want to try this look, then opt for a pair of tie and dye jeans as they give an illusion of being printed but are just an interesting combination of diferent bright colours.

Alternatively, you can even go for smaller prints such as vertical stripes which give you more height or try dainty floral designs on dark denims. If you have a slim torso, wear them with a loose cropped top to accentuate your waistline or a nice low-neck loose vest to cover your hips.
