I  realised I want a relationship but I don’t believe in relationships, strange right? I and many more like me face this, I guess, so I realised I believe in coexistenceship rather than a relationship.

I know you might think it’s escapism or convenience because relationship is the only way to be we have been told, and anything else is nothing but a compromise of sorts, just convenient, but then again, what’s wrong in trying and making our lives a little convenient and make it a little easy to exist with another person that you love or like.

We have adopted convenience in every aspect of our life except for this and strangely, it’s looked down upon. Unfortunately, our lives have gotten too hectic today and way more complicated compared to back then when the rules of relationships were laid down by the society or whoever did it, everything changed in the universe but the rules remained the same, they weren’t reviewed with the changing times and hence it’s really difficult to follow all those rules to the T today at times. And as a result, we see so many relationships failing or falling short of expectations.

It’s no one’s fault but the fault of time. So, I think it’s time we restructure the rules of the relationship and create coexistenceship, let’s take the good stuff, stuff that works and mix it with some new practical stuff and create this pragmatic, personalised situation of being with someone, a situation that’s not claustrophobic or rigid as a relationship but definitely not frivolous either.

It’s a situation based on doable practical living condition for two people who want to be together, something that creates happiness rather than force two people to confine to follow a set of rules that’s rigid, pre-decided and impractical for today’s times. Let’s take the “relationship” to the next level and create a “coexistenceship” and just be happy. Isn’t that the ultimate goal of it all anyway?
