Cheekily Yours: The uninvited duo

With the elder son of a high profile family all set to tie the knot in Mumbai this month, it is only fair the ‘small’ guest list of 850 family and friends are taken for a Winter Wonderland pre-wedding bash. The happy couple have already begun celebrating 10 days prior to the blessed event in the land of the Alps and chocolates. Reports of the extravagant affair at a luxurious resort started pouring in early on this week with the who’s who of B-town invited to join in the parade. True to form, the Wonderland turned out to be nothing short of a fairytale where the couple-to-be arriving to their own party in an all white horse carriage and the rest of the wedding party enjoying rides on the Ferris wheel and merry-go-rounds. While an earlier family affair included A-listers from both India and the US, this extravaganza also has one of America’s best pop rock bands flying in.

But away from the jamboree, in the bustling suburbs of Mumbai, two actresses, who partied it up the first time around, weren’t invited to join in the fun the second time. So when a plane packed with celebs left the Motherland to fly out early on Tuesday, this actress, who did a cameo role in a horror movie, was rumoured to have been so upset at not being on the invite list that she skulked away in her posh Juhu residence. The other starlet, known for her carrying weight, from Andheri tried to stay on the down-low and escape the shutterbug through the week. But a secret screening for the latter’s upcoming film – where her close friends were invited to Juhu PVR – made her sneak out late Wednesday night to attend the event. Let’s hope this left-out duo don’t have to lurk in the dark much longer since the cat is already out of the bag!
