He shared his views and thoughts on ‘Work Life Balance’ which benefitted the audience. The audience was completely spellbound by the oratory skills of Nilay. He suggested how an officer can give better output by maintaining balance between work and family responsibilities. In the workshop, Director General of HCM RIPA Gurjot Kaur, Secretary Personnel Bhaskar Sawant, RAS Association President and Director and Joint Secretary Local Self Governance Pawan Arora and a large number of state administration and police officers were present.

Nilay, in his deliberation, said that work which is done with heart doesn’t bring any tension. But the work which is not of your own choice creates mental tension. “Now, the question arises whether you are doing physical exertion or it’s mental burn out. When a soldier braves in -40 degrees in Siachin he doesn’t suffer any mental stress. Then, does mental stress happen only in civil life?” he asked.

On Work Life Balance, he said that everyone should maintain a balance among emotions, feelings and relationships because the society is changing every day.

He said that contemporary officers should understand that our country is a progressive one and the entire world is looking up to us. In a developing country, questions are being raised on everything - right from basic facilities to governance. In such scenario, young officers should fulfil their responsibilities and duties while working with values and systems.

He said that if your job doesn’t make you a good person and doesn’t give you pleasure, then you will not be able to contribute to the society and will never get satisfaction. “Balance in life will improve your life,” he said. Pawan Arora said that such workshops and seminars rejuvenate officers and they get on to their work with new zeal and enthusiasm. “We will continue to organise such enlightening sessions in the coming months,” he said.
