Banasthali Vidyapith – world’s largest fully residential university nurturing women for their leadership roles for over 80 years, is all set to revolutionise women’s career by pushing entrepreneurship and startups.

Powered by NITI Aayog, Banasthali’s newly setup Atal Incubation Centre organised a 3-day bootcamp under their first Incubation Programme called WOMENPreneur. The bootcamp was attended by 40 women startups hailing from across the country.

The first phase of WOMENPreneur received exceptional response from all over India and 40 startups were selected for the bootcamp. The three days of the event saw over 25 mentors and investors coming together to mentor the startups, finding their gaps and helping them to scale their ventures.

The event started with the address of Vice Chancellor of Banasthali Vidyapith Prof Aditya Shastri motivating the startups with a revolutionary phrase, ‘think through & think big’ to make it to the big league. A brief introduction of WOMENPreneur was summarised by Abhishek Pareek, CEO, Atal Incubation Centre. He mentioned that there is no dearth of funding for women startups, it’s only that women have to come confident & stronger to fight the bias. Women entrepreneurs were delighted when Chintan Bakshi, CEO Startup Oasis conducted an interactive business modeling workshop with the participants.

The programme was live telecasted in Banasthali campus. The second day started with Tarun Agarwal, Portfolio Manager Startup Oasis who conducted the session on financial modeling and startup unit economics with the participants. The participants made demo pitches which were analysed and rectified for any loop holes by the mentors and investors.

The bootcamp ended on third day with all the participants pitching in front of panel of judges. Monica Pesswani from Maharashtra was the winner in Social Startup, Manveen Kaur from Haryana in Commercial Startup and the CAMPUSPreneur was Pooja Kaul from Maharashtra. Each were awarded a cash price of Rs 1 lakh. Also 15 startups were selected for nine month Incubation Programme at the Atal Incubation Centre.
