Lashing out at the Vasundhara Raje-led Rajasthan state BJP government, Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sachin Pilot on Wednesday alleged that people around CM Raje are involved in gross corruption and the farmers have been forced to commit suicide. Pilot was addressing a public rally in Jhalrapatan before party president Rahul Gandhi delivered his address.

PCC chief Sachin Pilot also slammed the BJP government for its failure in maintaining law and order and offering relief to the farmers. Pilot called it a travesty that the farmers in state, particularly those who cultivated garlic in the Hadauti region, were forced to take their own lives due to a comatose state government under chief minister Vasundhara Raje. “The farmers have been forced to die while the blackmailers and the corrupt stand protected in the government,” he alleged.

Raje government came in power with a huge majority but in return for the huge majority, the government has only cheated the people and the farmers, Pilot said. Congress in last four and half years have raised people’s voice on the roads and assured the party would win with a huge majority in upcoming state assembly elections.

The state PCC chief said the chief minister’s claim of having spent a considerable amount in developing her constituency is a sham as the district administration has officially moved a plea to consider it as a backward of the backward among all the districts in state.

Earlier in the day, speaking to media persons, Pilot said that the so called bastion of BJP would be demolished in the upcoming elections as the public is fed up with the current regime. “Their sentiments are aligned with the Congress. The current BJP government in the state was given a huge mandate by the people. They wished to see the performance of the government but in return it has only cheated the public,” he said. Over the controversy brewing in the CBI, Pilot asked how is it possible for the probe agency to maintain its credibility and trust in such times of crisis?
