After completion of three years of metro, the JMRC has completed the trial of automated train operation.

The automated metro will be beneficial as it will not only reduce the running time by 1 minute, but will also reduce the energy and fuel consumption by around 10%.

Informing about the automated Metro services in Jaipur, Operation Director of Jaipur Metro CS Jeengar said that after metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad, the Pink City became the first tier-2 city to have Metro services.

Presently, Jaipur Metro runs on only one route from Mansarovar to Chandpol and covers the distance in 23 minutes. The train is expected to run without driver from June end, but the driver will be present to handle the opening and closing of doors as platform screen door is not available in Jaipur metro yet, he added. The presence of a personnel is also required for ensuring optimum safety of the passengers.
