Number of flights from Jaipur to domestic airports has seen a rise in last few months
Travel to Kochi made as Indigo airlines starts flight from Jaipur. Passengers will get one more option for flying to Kochi from Jaipur. Indigo airlines has started a flight from Jaipur to Cochin which will depart from Jaipur at 18:15 hours.
The flight will reach Kochi at 21:05 hours as per the schedule issued by airlines. However, on the opening day of this flight, there was a delay of 15 minutes from going from Jaipur on Thursday evening.
The flight will take about 3 hours between the two tourist cities and will give more options to the passengers from many other flights which operate throughout the day between the two cities. Few days ago, Indigo had started flight for Bengaluru from November 1. Thus, the connectivity between the southern part of the country and Jaipur has been increasing now. Kochi is a known tourist place and many people from Rajasthan plan their holidays in Kerala and go to Kochi for seeing the beaches. The number of flights from Jaipur airport to various domestic airports has seen a rise in the last few months. Currently, the runway of Jaipur airport is closed for flight operation from 10:30 pm to 5 am since October 29.
The NOTAM (Notice to Airman) as its popularly called will be effective for one and half month till December 14 for the construction related work. As such the international and domestic flights which operate from Jaipur airport between this time duration have changed their schedules.
Currently, the work of making a parallel taxi track is being done along the runway, with the linking of this the turnover time of aircraft will get reduce.
Notably ,the flight after landing at runway takes some time to vacate the runway for other flights. With the linking of the taxi track with the runway the time taken will be less. The work has been going on since last few months, earlier in the month of march, NOTAM was imposed for three weeks and Jaipur airport operation and schedule of large number of flights were changed as the runway will be closed for about 7 hours and 30 minutes for getting connected with the taxi way.
In last few months large number of flights have started flying in and out of Jaipur airport. In a report issued by airport authority of India, between April to August in this financial year 2174939 passengers used Jaipur airport for their travel.
