Top Congress leaders huddle for power in Rajasthan

An emphatic win can do wonders. At least, it is visible in the Rajasthan Congress. After the impressive victories in the bypolls, top leaders of the party, who earlier used to move independently, are seen in huddle these days. Even when they meet the party president Rahul Gandhi. The show of solidarity not only soothes the nerves of Rahul but also activates party workers down the line in the state. 

On Thursday, state Congress chief Sachin Pilot, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and former union minister Jitendra Singh along with other leaders met Rahul Gandhi and discussed the poll strategy for the coming assembly elections. 

Party president Rahul Gandhi asked the state leaders to work together. He also appreciated the new winning strategy formulated by Sachin Pilot - mera booth mera gaurav - and called on to work hard at grassroots and booth level. 
Sachin Pilot said that the party will work with all humility with public to uproot the arrogance of current government.

“There is a wave against Raje government. We will take public into confidence and work towards bringing a responsible government in the state.

Ashok Gehlot said that the magic of Gujarat will be recreated in Rajasthan and Congress will wrest back power. 

“We are working in line with Rahulji’s vision. All our leaders are in sync. In the recently bypolls, all senior leaders went together for the nomination of candidates. It worked well for us,” he said.

According to sources, Rahul Gandhi has kept the card of chief minister-designate close to his chest. He has reportedly said that the election will be contested in collective leadership with Pilot as the state president and the legislature will select their leader once Congress gets the majority.
