According to information received from the sources, three people were caught on the basis of suspicion after conducting a search on the Jammu Tawi Express. When they did not give any satisfactory answer, the Jammu & Kashmir Police were informed and their photographs were sent. The information that came shocked the authorities as they were  involved in the killing of a policeman. It is believed that Sohail was the mastermind of the murder of a policeman which took place on October 14.

“We were already tipped off by the J&K Police and we acted accordingly,” said an official of the GRP. When contacted, a J&K Police officer said that Sohail is wanted in many militancy related cases. “He (Sohail) is most wanted among them. With regards to others, we are ascertaining their role. We have dispatched a team to Rajasthan and we would be bringing them here,” he said.
