The city councillors on Friday staged a protest at the JMC headquarters for two hours, expressing their anger against insensitive attitude of the trust and demanded that case of murder of cows be registered against the culprit.
Death of cows in Hingonia Gaushala has again raised questions about working of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Sri Krishna Balram Seva Trust. The trust’s apathy led to starvation deaths of cows as it failed to procure dry fodder for the animals.
The city councillors on Friday staged a protest at the JMC headquarters for two hours, expressing their anger against insensitive attitude of the trust and demanded that case of murder of cows be registered against the culprit. After this incident, Mayor Vishnu Lata constituted a high-level probe committee. The Mayor reaffirmed that the guilty won’t be spared.
The maintenance of Hingonia Gaushala is being run by Shri Krishna Balram Seva Trust. The municipal corporation has not paid the trust for the last four months. Due to which more than 300 cows have died in gaushala within five days. The reason for the death of cows is attributed to starvation.
A dozen councillors staged a dharna at JMC headquarters for two hours on Friday. They demanded investigation in the Hingonia case and filing of criminal case against the culprit. Mayor Vishnu Lata spoke to the councillors on the phone.
BJP councillor Anil Sharma said that the Trust, which is getting crores of rupees of donation, could have arranged for cow fodder own its own. The incident has clearly proved that the trust has failed run Gaushala operation properly.
If the municipal corporation does not pay the trust then cows will die in Gaushala. The trust should have informed the councillors, the mayor and the social workers of the city. But the Trust did not do this. It is clear from this that trust is also responsible for the death of cows. The case of cow murder should be registered against the trust and officials of the JMC who have not inspected cowshed for the last 10 days.
