In a major breakthrough, the special cell of the Delhi police on Wednesday arrested Ariz Khan alias Junaid, a terrorist of the banned Indian Mujahideen and accused in the Jaipur bomb blasts that rocked the Pink City in May 2008.
Interestingly, even the Rajasthan police was on the trail of Junaid for the past few years. After receiving intelligence reports about his whereabouts, the cops had deployed a team to nab him.

The cops had camped in Azamgarh for the past three days.
We were working on the leads when he was nabbed by the Delhi police. A team of the Rajasthan ATS will now travel to Delhi and interrogate the terrorist, said Vikas Kumar, DIG-ATS. The man is accused of the bomb blasts in the city which killed 63 persons and injured more than 200.
The official further added, “After the initial grilling, we will try and bring him toJaipur for further interrogation.” Interestingly, Junaid had an award of Rs 15 lakh on his head (Rs 10 lakh by the NIA and Rs 5 lakh by the Delhi Police). He has been on the run since the September 2008 Batla House encounter.
Junaid, an expert bomb maker, conspirator and executioner, was involved in at least five bombings, including the 2007 Uttar Pradesh blasts, 2008 Jaipur blasts and the 2008 Ahmedabad blasts, among others.
