The severity of swine flu in Jodhpur can be guaged from the fact that the doctors are taking precautions against this disease.

As many as  88 patients have been diagnosed with swine flu in Jodhpur, second highest in the state. The cases of swine flu in the nearby district are also being referred to Jodhpur. What has alarmed the doctors is the high number of cases in the summer and monsoon, as it was considered to be a winter ailment. So far 12 people have died because of swine flu.

As per directions given by Dr A L Bhat, Principal of the Dr S N Medical College, local hospitals - Umaid, MDM and Mahatma Gandhi - have made proper arrangements to control the spread of this disease. MDM hospital has been made a swine flu treatment centrewhere one ICU and a separate ward for children have been reserved. Dr S R Bhaskar, suprintendent MDM hospital, says that many referral cases are coming to Jodhpur.
