A change in the government has come to raise hopes of change for many of the landowners affected by the Shivdaspura Greenfield airport project. The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has declared hold on regularisation process in many villages in anticipation of acquisition for several years. The affected families have now appealed chief minister Ashok Gehlot for intervention.

“There is no certainty of the proposal. The site does not comply with requisites of Airport Authority of India and even the Union civil aviation minister has denied of any airport proposed in the area,” said a member of the delegation to meet the chief minister.

The delegation pleaded that ‘reserved’ for the project, their properties have turned in non-performing assets. They neither can sell it or develop for personal and their plight remains uncompensated by the development authority.

Appeals of the affected families protesting against the airport have gone unheard during the previous government and JDA had finalised upon a draft plan for the airport.
