On his return from a personal vacation, the secretary of Rajasthan Cricket Association is infuriated over the executive committee ‘meeting’ held in his absence. Alleging the RCA president CP Joshi of fraudulent behaviour, the RCA secretary Rajendra Singh Nandu challenged the authenticity of the ‘executive meeting’.
“I challenge Mahendra Nahar and Azad Singh to withdraw even a single rupee from associations account, I am still the secretary and no executive or general body meeting can be called without my consent,” Rajendra Singh said to DNA on Thursday.
The RCA secretary had been out of Rajasthan for nearly a week and in the duration, the RCA executive has met and decided on various issues. These also included expansion of existing committees and appointment of new ones. Interestingly, the RCA secretary is not against the decisions but the meeting.
“It’s in authority of the association president to appoint and expand committees, calling an executive committee meeting, however, remains under the authority of association secretary,” Rajendra Singh elaborates on his objection.
“Also, Mahendra Nahar is suspended from his position of RCA joint secretary and should not be part of any official procedure at the association,” he adds another issue of conflict. Just back from the vacation, RCA secretary is waiting for further details on developments at the association held in his absence. The issue apparently leads towards legal corridors as Rajendra Singh continues to hold his position stiff against the RCA president.
Appointment of committee by the RCA president to investigate in the district cricket committees and affiliated sports club comes little to his concern. He claimed that such steps are an attempt by the CP Joshi camp to mislead media and the public while the district associations in his support have their activities duly documented as per requirement of RCA and sports council of state.
