Rajasthan: Swine flu patient count rising in Churu and Pali

A separate facility has been set up in the hospital as swine flu ward and the test samples of swine flu patients are also being collected in a separate lab.

The number of patients is constantly rising day by day in the outdoor department of the Government Hospital situated at Churu district headquarters. The patients are seen waiting in queues for prescriptions, free medicines and blood tests. The main reason behind increasing patients of cold and cough is due to changing weather along with swine flu cases in Rajasthan. The medical department of Churu is also spreading awareness among the public while asking them to visit the hospital for checkup.

A separate facility has been set up in the hospital as swine flu ward and the test samples of swine flu patients are also being collected in a separate lab. A total of 47 people have been found positive of swine flu, out of which seven people have died. Of the seven deceased, five patients were admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Manoj Sharma said that efforts are being made to prevent swine flu by spreading awareness among the residents of rural and urban areas of the district. 

Despite several efforts, swine flu is not getting under control in Pali district. A resident of Bapu Nagar Extension of the city died in a private hospital of Jodhpur. It was found in the report that the old man was visiting government and private hospitals of Pali city for the last three days.

After the unfortunate death of the man, medical department went to Bapu Nagar to complete the formality and came back without conducting a survey or test of the residents. After the incident, the locals are disappointed with the functioning of the medical department.

TOLL RISING

As many as 125 people have lost their lives due to swine flu in Rajasthan in the month of February.Out of the total, six people died on Thursday. The maximum deaths of 30 people have been reported in Jodhpur district itself followed by 12 in Barmer and nine each in Udaipur and Bikaner.
