Rajasthan: Kho Nagoriyan murder solved

Two days after a middle aged woman was found dead in Kho Nagoriyan area, the city police have cracked the case and nabbed the alleged lover of the deceased for the murder. The woman was murdered in a fit of rage after she badmouthed the lover in an inebriated condition. The man, after murdering the woman, went back to meet the deceased’s family and did not inform them of what had happened.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as 35-year-old Prem Devi, a resident of Luniyawas in Kho Nagoriyan police station area.

“After the matter came to light, the body was recovered and investigation was initiated. After the deceased was identified the family members were contacted and inquiries were made if she had enmity with anyone,” officials said.

The cops then learnt that the woman was a widow. However after the death of her husband she got into a live-in relationship with one man. “The man was identified as Amar alias Sonu alias Durgi Prasad, a resident of Ganeshpuri Kachchi Basti under Galta Gate police station area,” officials said, adding, “the man was questioned about the woman and appeared suspicious. On strict questioning, the man broke down and confessed to committing the crime. He then confessed that he met the woman around five years ago near Khaniya Dam. The duo started talking on phone and soon she started working with Amar as a daily worker. Around two years ago, her husband passed away and since then the duo has living together.”

However on 21st December, they got into a fight, which resulted in the murder. “On 21st December, the man called the woman to meet him at Ghat Gate around 4pm. The two met and purchased raw meat and liquor. They left for Paldi Meena and on the way purchased eggs as well. After this they went to a nearby forest where they consumed liquor and in an inebriated condition the woman started bad mouthing the accused,” officials said.

The duo had a verbal spat however the fight soon died down. “However around 11pm the duo was crossing the Mangal Bazaar ground near Vinayak College when another spat broke out between them. In a fit of rage Amar strangulated the woman using her saree and left her near a tree and went back to the family of the deceased who resided with him. The man has been arrested,” officials said.
