Rajasthan High Court has issued a contempt notice to the UDH Secretary, JDC, JDA Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer JDA, asking about the business activities going on in the 10-B Colony of Gopalpura bypass. The court had put a stay on business activities. A division bench of Justice KS Jhaveri and Justice VK Vyas gave this order during the initial hearing on the petition filed by the 10-B Vikas Samiti.

Court orders government to arrange lobbying

Rajasthan HC’s lawyers are on judicial boycott for the last 11 days in protest against the committee constituted to set up the bench of the HC in Udaipur. In the matter, Justice Mahendra Maheshwari has ordered the government to arrange for lobbying. Otherwise, the decisions will be given based on the merit. On the other hand, the judicial boycott by the lawyers continued on Thursday as well and they have now started a hunger strike in the High Court premises.

Ban on recruitment of cleaners

Rajasthan HC has put an interim stay on the recruitment process of the cleaning workers, being done by the municipal corporation. The single bench of Justice VS Siradhana gave this order during the initial hearing on the petition filed by Amit Gujarati and others. It is mentioned in the petition that appointment have not been given for recruitment in the year 2012 and new recruitment has begun for 4,961 posts. The lottery system has been chosen as the basis of selection in this recruitment process, which was already declared wrong by the bench of HC in the past.

Anurag Tomar’s bail plea dismissed

While dismissing the bail plea of Anurag Tomar, Rajasthan High Court has refused to grant bail in the matter of making fake documents in the trust meeting. On the other hand, the court has ordered the co-accused and Anurag’s mother Shobha Tomar to be released on bail. The court has directed Shobha to not enter the property of the complainant BS Tomar without permission. Single bench of Justice Mahendra Maheshwari passed the order while hearing the bail pleas of the accused.
