Rajasthan High Court has ordered the state government to submit the compliance report regarding jail reform from the state government on May 28. While expressing displeasure over not abiding by the order, the court said that a last chance is being given before registering a contempt case against the guilty officers. Along with this, the court has summoned Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, if the report is not submitted.

RU Associate Professor jailed

Special Court of ACB cases has sentenced two years in jail to the then Associate Professor of RU and Coordinator of re-evaluation committee Lakshmichand Pahadiya for increasing the marks of a student during re-evaluation. Whereas the court acquitted the beneficiary student Ripudaman Singh Rajawat, giving him the benefit of doubt.

HC demands answer on booth allotment

Rajasthan High Court summoned the reply by issuing a notice to UDH Secretary, JDC, JMC Commissioner, Collector, Deputy Commissioner of Police and MD of Jaipur Zila Dugdh Utpadak Sahakari Sangh. The notice has been issued for allotment of dairy booths on the footpath at Ashish Vihar near RBI Colony in Jagatpura.

Arrest warrant for ex-RTDC MD issued

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate No.-9 has again released the arrest warrant of the then MD of RTDC Rakesh Saini in the matter of allotment of land near Jal Mahal. Along with this, the court has ordered industrialist Navratan Kothari to appear before the court on July 2.

IM operative’s bail plea rejected

The sessions court of the city has rejected the bail application of the accused related to the Sikar Module of restricted organisation Indian Mujahideen Mohammed Umar. In the order, the court has mentioned that there are serious allegations against the accused and that is why he cannot be released on bail. The ATS had also arrested 4 other accused in the case on 27 March 2014 with many objectionable items.
