The two month long training exercise aimed towards training commanders and soldiers in their offensive tasks, concluded on Wednesday.
Lieutenant General Cherish Mathson, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Sapta Shakti Command reviewed GANDIV VIJAY exercise in Rajasthan on Wednesday. The Army Commander was accompanied by Lieutenant General PC Thimmaya, General Officer Commanding, Chetak Corps.
The two month long training exercise aimed towards training commanders and soldiers in their offensive tasks, concluded on Wednesday. The exercise validated the concept of speedy mobilisation and dispersed deployment of offensive forces with the ability to converge at a point of decision. During the exercise, synergy between mechanised forces, infantry, artillery, engineers, elements of Special Forces and Air Force was practiced and fine tuned. An array of modern sensors were deployed and the participating troops got an opportunity to operate in a transparent battle field.
While interacting with the Army Commander on conclusion of the exercise, the participating troops conveyed their satisfaction on the content and conduct of the exercise.
“We have achieved a very high level of coordination with all the participating elements and are now confident of doing our job more effectively,” said defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha.
The Army Commander appreciated the efforts and dedication of the troops of the Chetak Corps in maintaining high level of morale and motivation during the conduct of exercise despite extremely hot weather conditions.
