The tourism sector is coming back on track after getting derailed by the Gurjar agitation. The road routes and rail routes to Sawai Madhopur and Agra have been reopened and traffic is getting back to normal. The trains to Sawai Madhopur and Agra have been resumed and the bookings are as usual. Same is with the road route and the tourists between Jaipur and Agra are commuting like any other normal day now.

For 8 days, due to the Gurjar agitation, the railway track and roads were blocked and travel experts were seeing a large drop in the number of tourists going to Ranthambore (Sawai Madhopur). Even though the agitation ended by the weekend, many travellers and wildlife lovers had already got their bookings cancelled fearing that the agitation might continue for more time. Hoteliers feel that the number of bookings will rise towards the weekend as there are no holidays during the week.

Similarly, since the roads were blocked, a lot of tourists including many foreign nationals who had planned to travel between Jaipur and Agra had to postpone their plans. However, now the bad phase is over and the tourism activity is getting back to normal. Passengers are booking tickets in trains between Jaipur and Agra and also in roadways buses while private vehicles are also being booked.

A large number of travel groups book their travel plans between Delhi, Jaipur and Agra several weeks before and move by chartered buses. Since the road was blocked, such tourists suffered.

This is the time of year when the tourism season in Rajasthan is good and happening.
