The runway of Jaipur Airport will once again remain closed for flights operation between 10.30 pm and 5 am from Monday October 29.

The NOTAM (Notice to Airman) as its popularly called will be effective for one-and-a-half months till December 14, due to  the construction related works at the airport.

In view of this the international and domestic flights which operate from the Jaipur Airport between this time duration are now changing their schedules.

For example the Jaipur Bangkok flight which till now flies at 2.15 am will now fly from Jaipur at 6.05 am.

Similarly the flight to Sharjah has been rescheduled to 6.10 am instead of its usual time of 5.00 am.

The flight which comes from Bangkok will also now arrive at 8.45 pm instead of its routine time of 11.15 pm.

The schedule of a few domestic flights will also change due to the implementation of NOTAM at Jaipur Airport.

Once the construction work at the runway gets completed, it will reduce the turnaround time of the aircrafts and will help vacate the runway quickly. Currently the work of making a parallel taxi track is being undertaken along the runway and with the linking of this  the turnaround time of aircraft the will get reduce.

Notably, the flight after landing at the runway, takes some time to vacate the runway for other flights. With the linking of the taxi track with the runway the time taken will be less, said Airport sources. A taxiway is a path for aircraft at an airport connecting runways with aprons, hangars, terminals and other facilities.

The work has been going on since past few months, earlier in the month of March,  NOTAM was imposed for three weeks at Jaipur Airport and so the operation and schedule of large number of flights were changed as the runway will be closed for about 7 hours and 30 minutes for getting connected with the taxi way.

In last few months large number of flights have started flying in and out of Jaipur airport. In a report issued by the Airports Authority of India, between April and August in this financial year, 21,74,939 passengers used Jaipur Airport for their travel. These include both domestic and international passengers.
