Mother-daughter duo found murdered in Kota, loot suspected

Panicked and fear shocked the Kota city on Thursday late evening after bodies of a 45-year-old woman, wife of a jeweller in the city and her 19-year-old daughter, were found profusely in a pool of blood at their home in Gurudwara road in Kota railway station area under Bhimganjmandi police station. In an attack with iron rods, the unidentified miscreants, likely to be more than two entered the house most likely for loot, killed the mother-daughter duo and fled from the spot. Kota range inspector general of police Vipin Kumar Pandey, Kota city SP Deepak Bhargava, ASP Rajesh Mill along with other officials rushed to the spot and assessed situation of the crime.

The deceased mother and daughter are identified as Vinita Vijay alias Gayatri, 45, wife of Rajendra Vijay, a jeweller in the city and Palak alias Mini, 19, a resident of Gurudwara road, near Jain temple told the police official. The unidentified miscreants, likely to be more than two, entered the house when the grandfather of the deceased girl, Chandmal Vijay had gone to nearby temple during late evening, while father and other male members were at jewellry shop on station road, he said adding when the grandfather returned home at around 8.45, he found the two bodies in pool of blood near the dining hall while the almirahs, cupboards and safe in the rooms were opened and the items were on the floor, he added.

The two bodies had fatal marks of injuries on heads, necks and other parts and were profusely bleeding suggesting the crime was likely to have been committed between 7.30 – 8.45 last evening, said the circle in charge Srichand Choudhary. The two bodies were handed over to the family members after postmortem by the medical board, he added.

The unidentified accused even took away the CCTV cameras installed in the house and the DVR attached with them. Two iron rods were recovered from the spot, he added. On the report by Chandmal, the head of the family, a case under relevant sections was lodged against unidentified accused, he added. The assessment value and list of loot items, jewellry and cash are yet to be submitted by the complainant, he added. 

‘The motive behind the crime is most likely to be loot but the investigation into the matter is still underway’, told ASP, Kota city Rajesh Mill. The entire team of Kota city police is making strong efforts to trace the clue and nab the accused but still there is no development in this direction, he added. 

‘We have constituted the police teams to nab the accused involved in double murder but unfortunately there is no development on the clue and tracing of the accused. The crime was apparently committed with the purpose of loot, it is yet to be investigated as how many accused were involved but it is sure they were minimum two, SP Kota city Deepak Bhargav said
