Vasundhara Raje unveiled the statue of Maharani Avantibai Lodhi at the circle in Manohar Thana town.
The great personalities, martyrs and Veeranganayein (feminists) cannot be confined to the boundaries of particular place or caste as they are the national treasure, Rajasthan governor Kalyan Singh said while addressing a public meeting in Manohar Thana town of Jhalawar district. Singh was speaking as the chief guest at the statue unveiling function of Maharani Avantibai Lodhi. Earlier, Singh along with chief minister Vasundhara Raje unveiled the statue of Maharani Avantibai Lodhi at the circle in Manohar Thana town.
The martyrs and personalities like Mangal Pandey, Laxmibai and Maharani Avantibai gave exemplary sacrifices in 1857 freedom revolution, Singh said, adding the society that forgets and ignores such personalities and martyrs tends to lag behind and stay backward.
The governor appreciated CM Raje’s efforts and work carried out for the development and upliftment of the backward and neglected sections of the society in the state. The governor also administered oath by asking people at the gathering to raise hands for making the village addiction and garbage free.
Paying tribute to martyr Avantibai Lodhi, Raje, who presided over the function, called upon to root out the evils from the society and work for the progress and development of the state and country. She also detailed the developmental works carried out during her tenure as CM.
“There was a time when one had to take rounds through dusted roads to reach to a destination in Jhalawar region but now here is a network of roads and bridges to make one’s journey smooth and convenient,” Raje said.
The state government for the last four years of rule is committed to working for the development and progress of backward and extreme backward sections of the society and to put them in leading rows, Raje said.
The CM also repeated the budget announcements made by her in the current budget for Jhalawar region.
Local MP Dushyant Singh, public grievances redresser committee chairman Srikrishan Patidar, national president of Lodhi community Vipin David, Kota range IG Vishal Bansal, Jhalawar collector Jitendra Soni, SP Anand Sharma were also present at the event.
