JEN, water works staff beat up Bundi city Congress president

Bundi city Congress president, who along with his supporters has today noon reached water works department with the public grievances on water supply in Devpura and Chattarpura areas of city was thrashed and beaten up in a locked office room by junior engineer and other employees of the department. 

The city Congress president sustained injuries in the incident and is undergoing medical treatment at Bundi district government hospital. The employees of the water works department also misbehaved with the media persons covering the incident on the spot. Bundi Sadar police have lodged cross cases in the matter and initiated investigations.

Bundi city Congress president Devraj Gochar, whose wife Jyoti Gochar is municipal councilor from Devpura area along with women and party workers of his area had today noon reached water works department office with public grievances on drinking water supply in the area. JEN of the department Brijgopal Meena and some other employees,held back Devraj Gochar and forcibly pushed him into office room which they bolted from inside and thrashed up Gochar severely. Media persons covering the incident, were also pushed aside by the employees when they attempted to unbolt the room gate to enter.Some camera equipments of news channel reporters were reportedly damaged in the incident.

Gochar in semi conscious state with injuries was rushed to district government hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Circle in charge, Bundi city police station Ramnath Singh told two cross cases on the report by Devraj Gochar and JEN Brijgopal Meena in the matter were lodged and investigation into the matter is underway.Meanwhile, media persons led by the district president of Journalist Association of Rajasthan (JAR), Vijayant Aamera submitted a memorandum to ADM (city) demanding action against involved.

Meanwhile, Bundi municipal council head (Sabhapati) Mahavir Modi on Tuesday evening issued work discharge order to JEN Brijgopal Meena ordering him to register his attendance at chief engineer office of water works department in Jaipur.
