Nagar had lost his ministerial berth in Gehlot government and was suspended from the party when rape charges were slapped on him. He had served jail sentence till the court gave him a clean chit. Recently, Nagar, a Gehlot loyalist, tried to appease RPCC chief Sachin Pilot stating “all possible help” to him when needed.

With this statement, the countdown of his Ghar Wapsi began. Sachin Pilot also called up Nagar to inform him of the same. “I want to thank Pilot. Congress is like my mother. When allegations were levelled against me, I termed the "charges" as conspiracy which was proved  with the court order,” Nagar told DNA.

Asked about the recent development, Nagar presented a diplomatic reply. “I would have been working for Congress always irrespective of my suspension or its revocation,” clarified Nagar.

He now has the opportunity to wield his influence in his constituency and score an advantage. He will also be able to stake claims to electoral gains. Presently, the Congress does not have a single Schedule Caste MLA in the state assembly. Two reserved seats, including Dudu from where Nagar contests, fall under Ajmer LS and both are currently with BJP.
