In a second major reshuffle in the state bureaucracy, chief minister Ashok Gehlot transferred a whopping 61 officers of the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) on Tuesday. Among the major ones who were transferred are Jaipur Collector and Commissioner Jaipur Development Authority.
Apart from this, collectors of 26 districts have also been changed indicating a change in government’s approach.
Jagroop Singh Yadav replaces Siddharth Mahajan as Jaipur Collector and District Magistrate. Secretary in personnel department—T Ravikant—has been made Commissioner Jaipur Development Authority.
Mahajan has been made Principal Secretary in General Administrative Department. Yadav till now had been serving in the General Administration department along with holding charge of other departments as well.
Sandeep Verma, Principal Secretary in Science and Technology department has now been made Principal secretary Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) while IAS officer Naresh Pal Gangwar has been made the Principal Secretary of Energy Department. Interestingly, Gangwar has been given additional responsibility as Chairman of Discoms.
Young IAS officer and Gehlot’s trusted man Gaurav Agarwal has been made the Commissioner of Jodhpur Development Authority while Nishant Jain has been appointed as his counterpart for the role of Chairman at Ajmer Development Authority.
Apart from Jaipur Collector, the Collectors of Bikaner, Bharatpur, Jodhpur, Karauli, Nagaur, Sawai Madhopur, Udaipur, Baran, Pali, Bhilwara, Jalore, Dungarpur, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Dholpur, Dausa, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jhalawar, Pratapgarh, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Churu, Sriganganagar and Ajmer have been changed as well.
