Govt delaying refinery on purpose: RPC Chief Sachin Pilot

Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Chief, Sachin Pilot, charged Raje government with deliberately delaying the oil refinery project in Barmer and depriving the people of Marwar of much-needed development. Pilot was lobbing another question in a series of questions, a part of his strategy to counter Raje’s Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra, at chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

Taking a swipe at the Raje government in state, he asked what pride does the BJP government feel in denying people their right to development and happiness? He asked, “Barmer refinery ke karya ko chaar saal baad shuru karke marwar ke janta ke hinton ko nuksaan pahunchane aur pradesh ki arthik unnati ko badhit karne par kya mukhyamantri gaurav mehsoos karti hai? (By pushing back the Barmer refinery project by four years and in the process denting the opportunity due to the people of Marwar and denying the region its share of economic development, how can the chief minister feel gaurav (pride))?”

Sachin Pilot said that the state government has just renegotiated the contract on the same shareholding which was originally proposed by the Congress government. 

He also said that the project was re-launched by the BJP government which was eager to stake claim on the refinery, which happens to be a brainchild of the previous Congress government. 

He added that the BJP government is not taking into account the revenue loss that has accrued over the last four years due to the deliberate delaying of the project, which is a consequence of the direct action of the BJP government.
