Former mayor Jyoti Khandelwal has targeted Ashok Parnami, former BJP state president, for issuing fake lease to Gurjar Basti at Shastri Nagar. Khandelwal claimed that although the fake lease was issued by forging Parnami’s signature, he has not yet filed an FIR in this regard. Khandelwal has demanded action against Jaipur Municipal Corporation’s (JMC) personnel involved in the case and BJP councillor Tejas Sharma.

The former mayor currently holding the position of general secretary of Pradesh Congress Committee in a press conference on Tuesday alleged that the ruling party’s former state chief is influencing the investigation of the fake lease case. “A fake lease of the government land of Gurjar Basti was released on May 15, 2013. There was Ashok Parnami’s counterfeit signature on it. In 2013, however, he was not the city mayor. After this episode, I had lodged an FIR against Mahesh Kumawat, in whose name the lease was issued,at Shastri Nagar police station,” Khandelwal said. “During the investigation, it was revealed that one more lease was also released on 15.05.2013 in the name of Mohri Lal Kumar, father of Mahesh Kumawat. This also had the signature of former mayor and legislator Parnami,” she added.

She said that advocate PK Mishra had sent a legal notice to Parnami, but he did not respond to it. “During the investigation, the police took a sample of my signature and conducted an inquiry with FSL. Parnami did not give the sample of his signature,” she said.  Khandelwal alleges that Parnami is influencing the cops investigation. Khandelwal raised the question as to why hasn’t the former BJP state chief registered a case in this regard, if the signature is indeed counterfeit. Khandelwal demanded the resignation of JMC’s panel chairman and Councillor Tejas Sharma and said that he is also involved in this.
