Body of the 10th class school girl, who faced unbearable teasing and harassment by two boys, jumped into Right Main canal in Kansuwa area under Udhyog Nagar police station on Friday evening, was recovered on Monday about 10km away in Kishanpura Right Main canal in Kaithun area of Kota district.
Police have lodged a case of abetment to suicide and under other IPC and POCSO sections against two youths in the matter.
The body was handed over to the family members after postmortem at Maharao Bhim Singh hospital on Monday afternoon.
The victim identified as Akansha Paliwal was returning home from tuition when the boys allegedly started teasing and harassing her. Unable to bear daily torture and humiliation, the girl jumped into canal.
Four days after the incident the body was recovered on Monday from Kishanpura Right Main canal in Kaithun area, about 10km away, said ASI at Udhyog Nagar police station, Bhagwan Das and added the body was handed over to family members after postmortem today noon.
On the report by the family members, police have lodged a case against two youths identified as Sourabh Vashnav and Akshay Mehra under section 354, 306 of IPC and under sections of POCSO and SC/ST Act, Daulat, a police personnel at Udhyog Nagar police station said. The accused have not been arrested as the investigation into the matter is underway and the case was lodged just today, he added.
Attempts to contact SHO of the police station Vijay Shankar Sharma went futile as his official and personal mobile numbers had been switched off and other police personnel were not ready to speak about the case except that the body was today recovered and handed over to the family members after postmortem.
