Chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Friday embarked on the fourth phase of her  Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra. She kicked off the proceedings of the day-1 by offering prayers to Lord Shiva at Kyasara village in her home constituency Jhalawar. She covered 155 kilometres travelling five Assembly areas of the region and addressed three public meetings in Dag and Aklera in  Jhalawar district, and Ramganj Mandi town in Kota district. Accusing the Congress of knocking the doors of High Court against the yatra, Raje said this was their attempt to stop development in the area. She added that inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies of works worth around Rs 324 crore were to be carried out on the first day of the yatra in Dag area.

In Dag and Ramganjmandi, Raje felicitated the children who had recently undergone various surgeries and treatment under the Bhamashaha Swasthya Yojana.

The woman and girl child are safe in the state, said Raje while addressing the people. She added that the state government has formulated law that gives death penalty to those guilty of raping minor girls which has been passed by the Cabinet. “Three rape accused have been given death penalty in Rajasthan after the new law on rape with minor was passed,” said the CM. At least 37 lakh women have been given domestic gas connections under Ujjawala Yojana in the state, Raje added while addressing a gathering here. The CM was accompanied by PWD minister minister Yunus Khan, agriculture minister Prabhu Lal Saini, Jhalawar-Baran MP Dushyant Singh, Kota–Bundi MP Om Birla and local MLAs and BJP workers.

During her four-day yatra in the division, Raje is set to cover at least 500 kilometers while touring 17 Assembly areas of Hadauti region and addressing at least 12 public meetings till September 17.

At a public meeting in Dag, she said that developmental works worth Rs17,000 crore have alone been undertaken in Jhalawar district, which was left untouched by the previous Congress regime and was termed as the most backward region.
