Captain of Team Rajasthan Aditya Garhwal struck 102 off 143 balls against Uttar Pradesh on day-1 of the elite group A & B match of the CK Nayudu Trophy being played at Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground on Wednesday. Garhwal, who is in tremendous form, exploited the batting-friendly pitch and accelerated the innings at a strike rate of 71.33 besides smashing 11 fours and 3 sixes. 

After winning the toss UP chose to field first and could manage the first breakthrough in the 39th over as Danraj Singh gave away his wicket at 35. It was followed by two more wickets that of Yash Kothari (51) and Rajat Chapparwal (5) in quick succession. Garhwal put brakes on the sudden collapse as he collaborated with different partners to stabilise the team’s standing. It was in the last session of the day that the captain was trapped lbw. At stumps, Rajasthan were 256 at the loss of 5 wickets. In the first match that the hosts played at the same venue, Garhwal had contributed with the score of 41 and 73, but the runs came in the losing cause against Mumbai.
